Add a little GINGER to your daily diet!
This rhizome has long been used to for gastrointestinal healing. It promotes the elimination of intestinal gas and relaxes and soothes the intestinal tract. These aspects offer relief from motion sickness and nausea.
Ginger contains very potent anti-inflammatory compounds, proven to ease the pain of arthritis, because of it’s ability to lessen joint and muscle pain and swelling.
Research from the University of Minnesota’s Hormel Institute states Ginger may combat colorectal cancer. Another study from the University of Michigan found that ginger has the power to kill ovarian cancer.
The spicy plant has also causes healthy sweating, especially useful in cold weather, detoxifying the body and aiding in warding off the cold and flu.
Creamy Carrot Ginger Soup
1 inch cube fresh ginger
1 1/2 cups almond milk
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
1 green onion
1 tsp coriander
1/4 tsp salt
dash of cayanne
Optional topping suggestions:
Place all ingredients in blender and process until smooth for a thick soup OR juice carrots first for a more fluid texture.
