Ashley Beech-Mavrantzas

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ashley Beech-Mavrantzas grew up in Roswell, Georgia and attended Georgia Southern University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business.  She continued on to Radford University in Virginia and received her Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.  She applied her education in the Human Resources arena, where she held several high level positions.  She made a career move to Jacksonville, Florida and met her husband, George, where they married and became parents to two boys, Christos and Liam.
After several years in the Human Resources field, Ashley decided to pursue her passion of becoming a therapist.  With encouragement from her family and friends, she enrolled at Florida State University and received her Master of Social Work.  During that time she served in two internship roles at Daniel Memorial and Hubbard House Domestic Violence Shelter.   She gained valuable experience with clients who were victims of domestic violence, trauma, and personality disorders.  She knew quickly that these were areas of which she would specialize.
Upon graduation, she embarked in her private practice under the guidance of her mentor, Amy Decker, and has been employed by two addiction hospitals, Wekiva Springs and Lakeview Health of Jacksonville, Florida.  Ashley is currently developing her private practice and is employed part-time at Lakeview Health, where she treats patients with substance abuse disorders.  She also attends classes to enhance knowledge and expertise in evidence-based modalities specific in treating her clients.  She practices Mindfulness and Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) and specializes in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, to name a few.
In addition, Ashley spends much of her time with family and friends.  She finds peace through meditation and being at the beach.  She also serves on the following Boards of Directors:  Obsessive Compulsive (OCD) Foundation Board of Jacksonville, Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of Kernan Trail Elementary and the River City Dance Project (RCDP).  She also volunteers at the Hubbard House, Rethreaded (an organization offering help to those affected by the sex trafficking industry), and the American Red Cross-Northeast Chapter.  She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).  Ashley has a passion for helping people who are in need of mental health treatment and she is now doing her life’s work.
