Your body is your vessel for living a healthy life. Without a vital body, it can be difficult to live a happy, full life. What many people overlook is that our bodies are closely linked to our emotional and psychological health. When we experience any type of stress, the body may manifest itself into physical ailments or pain.
Here at Mind Body & Beyond it is our goal to bring the mind-body connection into greater balance and harmony. Therefore, we find it helpful to provide many physical healing modalities: acupuncture, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, personal training and yoga. These treatments are offered in a relaxing, boutique-style setting. Our warm and talented specialists will walk you through a program customized personally for you.

Health and Wellness Coaching

Have you ever received good advice that you were unable to follow? Has your doctor ever recommended a lifestyle change that you found to be unsustainable? Have you ever wanted something in your life, but found you couldn’t achieve it alone?

 

Health Coaches are knowledgeable advisors who provide ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness. As your Health Coach, I will listen carefully and help you to navigate the world of contradictory nutrition advice to determine what changes are necessary for you. Your personalized program will radically improve your health and happiness. Together, we will explore concerns specific to you and your body and discover the tools you need for a lifetime of balance.

Nutritional Counseling

What to Expect?

The initial visit is mostly learning more about client’s goals, objectives, and reasons for wanting to see a Registered Dietitian. We’ll review past medical history as well as past and current medications/supplements.

 

We’ll take a deeper dive into your current lifestyle which may include stress, sleep, home life, diet, and energy levels. Dietary preferences and cooking habits will also be discussed, setting up a game plan that fits the clients’ lifestyle and ultimately moves them closer to their desired health goals. Subsequent follow-up visits will focus on reevaluating goals set in the initial session and adjusting as necessary.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It’s based on the theory that energy, called chi (pronounced “chee”), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians. Acupuncturists believe that illness occurs when something blocks or unbalances your chi. Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence chi and help it flow back into balance. Acupuncture is done by putting very thin needles into your skin at certain points on your body. This is done to influence the energy flow. Sometimes heat, pressure, or mild electrical current is used along with needles.

Yoga

Please join our wonderful Yoga instructor as she takes you through an enjoyable class that will help you with greater flexibility, body awareness, and toning.

Yoga classes are every Wednesday from 12-1pm $10/class and your first class is free!

 

Private Lessons are available for $65 or a 5 session package for $300

Massage Therapy

Massage has been practiced for thousands of years. Today, if you need or want a massage, you can choose from among 80 massage therapy styles with a wide variety of pressures, movements, and techniques. These all involve pressing, rubbing, or manipulating muscles and other soft tissues with hands and fingers. Sometimes, even forearms, elbows, or feet are used.

 

Do you simply want a massage for relaxation and stress control? Or do you need symptom relief or help with a certain health condition? Before booking a massage, let the therapist know what you’re looking for and ask which style the therapist uses.

Meditation

Meditation is a natural stress release for the mind and body and can be done in many ways. It is a practice of focusing your attention to help you feel calm and give you a clear awareness about your life. Eastern philosophies have recognized the health benefits of meditation for thousands of years. Meditation is now widely practiced in the West, with the belief that it has positive effects on mental and physical health.

 

Each Monday Evening Mind Body & Beyond offers a unique way to learn and become masterful at the meditation technique of Going Within.
